ANSSI Strengthens Its Commitment in the Pacific Through the PaCSON Network

Between the 27th and 29th of July 2026, ANSSI took part in the annual general meeting of the Pacific Cyber Security Operational Network (PaCSON) in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, thereby reaffirming its commitment to regional cybersecurity cooperation. This engagement forms part of France's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the Indo-Pacific while supporting the digital security of overseas territories and Pacific partners.

A Strategic Partnership for Cybersecurity in the Pacific

Since June of 2024, ANSSI has been a partner of the Pacific Cyber Security Operational Network (PaCSON), established in 2017 to strengthen the cybersecurity capabilities of 17 member states across the South Pacific. The network is based on three core pillars:

• Awareness-raising on cyber hygiene and best practices;
• Information sharing;
• Capacity building.

By taking part in this annual meeting, ANSSI reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collective cyber resilience across the region, where cyber threats have a direct impact on France's overseas territories. The Agency has reiterated its readiness to share its expertise—particularly in cyber crisis management—and to support PaCSON members in further developing their cybersecurity capabilities.

This cooperation reflects ANSSI's long-term commitment to protecting France's interests in the Pacific, while contributing to a stronger, more resilient regional cybersecurity ecosystem capable of addressing the region's evolving challenges.
