ANSSI is continuing the Keysas project and transferring its maintenance to Tyrex

Developed by ANSSI as part of its work and made available to everyone as open-source software for several years now, (Opens in a new window) the (Opens a new window) Keysas project is a prototype ‘clean station’, i.e. a file decontamination station.
This tool, which anyone can use, allows users to verify the security of documents from untrusted sources, or to act as a gateway for transferring untrusted files to more secure networks. The Keysas project is intended as a showcase of state-of-the-art Rust development, applied to a clean station.
As ANSSI’s primary remit is not to develop and maintain software, it has decided to transfer the maintenance of the Keysas project to Tyrex in order to ensure its long-term viability.
This handover ensures that the project is maintained securely and helps to strengthen the cybersecurity of the digital ecosystem through the reuse of secure development practices in Rust.
The Keysas project will continue to be made available to the community as open-source on its GitHub repository, at this link: (Opens a new window) https://keysas-fr.github.io/keysas/. The software is licensed under GPL-3.0.
For ANSSI, open source plays a vital role in ensuring control over digital solutions, securing software supply chains, enhancing the resilience of information systems and digital infrastructure, and supporting innovative technologies and solutions. This stance is based on the opportunities offered by open source in terms of adaptability, control over software design and the supply chain, sustainability, portability and integration.
