ANSSI takes part in ENISA's Threathunt 2030 Conference
On September 19th, 2024, ENISA organized the new edition of the annual Threathunt 2030 Conference at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center in Athens. This event was an opportunity for ANSSI and all of the European agencies’ partners to discuss emerging cyberthreats.
Created in 2004, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) plays a strategic role in the European Union's cybersecurity policy. Its cross-functional cooperation framework aims to improve the reliability of digital products, services and infrastructures within the European Union, notably by setting up certification schemes and supporting regulatory frameworks. Over the past two decades, this institution has been a key advisor to European institutions, agencies and entities in their cyber projects, helping to strengthen their resilience and exchanges between them.
The Threathunt 2030 Conference was punctuated by a series of interactive roundtables focusing on identifying and anticipating the various emerging threats the European Union might face by 2030. The dialogue that took place gave rise to a better understanding of the methods and means of anticipating, identifying, preventing, and responding to these threats – through, for instance, post-quantum cryptography (PQC), AI, and the development of cooperation between partners.
Invited by Mr. Juhan Lepassaar, Executive Director of ENISA, Vincent Strubel, Director General of the French Cybersecurity Agency, attended the event and took part in the closing round table with his German counterpart Claudia Plattner and Juhan Lepassaar himself, to discuss how Europe is gearing up to face new cyber challenges. He spoke with the ambition of sharing his vision, affirming his support for the implementation of European cybersecurity rules such as NIS 2 and CRA, and hailing the benefits of ENISA's structuring and sustainable coordination missions.
The event closed with a networking session and a convivial moment to celebrate ENISA's 20th anniversary with all of the attending organizations. This anniversary marks the evolution and achievements of the European Agency, which continues its efforts to build a solid security framework and contribute to the European Union's digital sovereignty.
In this period of political renewal at the European level, it was important for ANSSI to underline its commitment to ENISA, which benefits from the historic support enjoys the historic support of the French Agency.
