Leadership team
ANSSI’s Executive Office is composed of a Director General appointed by Decree from the Prime Minister, and a Deputy Director General, both of whom are assisted by a Chief of Staff and a Head of Cabinet.
Vincent Strubel
Director general
Vincent Strubel is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique (class of 2000) and of Telecom ParisTech.
In 2005, he started his career at the DCSSI (Central Network and Information Security Directorate), which later became ANSSI (French National Cybersecurity Agency). He successively held the positions of research lab manager, head of division and head of the Expertise department. In July 2020, he was appointed as head of the newly created OSIIC (Operator of Classified Interdepartmental Information Systems), which was a fusion of one of ANSSI’s department and of the governemental transmission center (CTG). He held this position for two and a half years.
General engineer Vincent STRUBEL was appointed Director General of ANSSI on January 4, 2023.
Stéphane Bajard
Deputy Director General
Promoted to the rank of Brigadier General on August 1st 2025, Stéphane Bajard is a graduate engineer of the special military school of Saint-Cyr. He also holds a Master’s degree in information system architecture from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancéeand is a graduate of the War College.
As an officer of the engineering corps, he began his career serving in the 25th Air Engineering Regiment, of which he would later go on to assume command between 2013 and 2015.
From the obtention of his Master’s degree, he spent several years in executive positions in the field of cybersecurity and information system operations with the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
In 2018, he took command of the 8th Signal Regiment before being appointed Deputy Director of Cybersecurity at the information and communication systems operator of the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
An auditor of the IHEDN’s 55th national session, “Armaments and Defence Economics”, he was appointed Deputy Director General of ANSSI on August 1st 2025.
Jennyfer Chrétien
Chief of staff
Jennyfer Chretien holds a Master’s degree in Public and Political Communication from Sciences Po Bordeaux (2009).
She began her career with a generalist French think tank, then spent nearly seven years as a consultant in the public affairs and crisis management sector. Between 2017 and 2022, she headed a French think tank specializing in the digital transformation of society. In this capacity, she authored and co-authored numerous publications and reports. She has also been a member of several public consultation bodies on digital issues, including the Observatoire de la haine en ligne of the Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique (Arcom) and the EducNum collective of the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
She joined ANSSI in March 2023 as Cabinet Director.
Laurence Bégou
Deputy chief of staff
Laurence Bégou holds a master's degree in European Governance from Sciences Po Grenoble (2011).
She began her career at the European Parliament as a policy advisor to Members of the European Parliament, specialising first on European transport policies, then on European digital public policies (GDPR, e-privacy, digital contract law, NIS, etc.). After six years at the Parliament, she joined the ANSSI's European and International Affairs team, responsible for negotiating a number of and non-legislative texts at international level on cloud, product security, 5G and industrial policy. Following a work experience in the private sector as Director Communications and Institutional Relations for cybersecurity, then Director of Communications and Public Affairs and member of the Executive committee for France, she returns to ANSSI in June 2024 as Deputy Chief of Staff.
Julie Chantreux
Cheif of cabinet
Julie Chantreux holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Exeter in the UK and an MA in Middle East Economic Policy from the University of King’s College London.
She spent three years working for the French and European diplomatic services, specializing in coordinating French positions in Brussels during the French Presidency of the EU Council.
She joined ANSSI as Chief of Staff in April 2023.
Chloé Chabanol
Head of the operations department (SDO)
Chloé Chabanol holds a Master’s degree in Risk and Crisis Management from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She went on to specialize further by attending the national session of the Institute for Studies and Research on Corporate Security (IERSE) now part of the IHEMI (Institut des Hautes Études du Ministère de l’Intérieur).
Beginning in 2008, she held various positions as a consultant in cybersecurity and crisis management within the private sector.
She joined ANSSI (French Cybersecurity Agency) in September 2018 as a policy officer in the Strategy Sub-Directorate. In September 2020, she took over leadership of the CERT unit within the Operations Sub-Directorate, before founding the Ecosystem, Services and Cooperation Division in 2023. She was appointed Deputy Director of Operations in February 2025.
Sophie Chaillet
Head of the resources department (SDR)
Sophie Chaillet's professional career has been including a variety of experiences in government administration.
She held management positions in both central and local government administrations notably overseeing transformation projects. Her expertise covers legal affairs, human resources, budgetary, logistics and property management, as well as public policy design.
She also contributed to major reforms and project management in several Ministries. She joined ANSSI in January 2025 as Deputy Director of Resources.
Gaëtan Poncelin de Raucourt
Head of the strategy department (SDS)
He is a former graduate from the École Normale Supérieure and a senior civil servant from the Corps des Mines.
Gaëtan Poncelin de Raucourt is deputy director of ANSSI’s strategy sub-directorate since September 2021.
Before joining ANSSI, he was deputy director of control at the AFA (French Anti-Corruption Agency). He previously held expert and managerial positions at the French Ministry of the Economy.
He has been Head of Strategie since november 2023.
Matthieu Autret
Head of control and oversight department (MCS)
Matthieu Autret is Chief Mining Engineer, former graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris.
He joined the French Ministry of Industry in 2003, before being seconded as a national expert to the European Commission, where he was in charge of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations at DG Trade. He was then Head of the industry, energy, environment, telecommunications, research, space and postal services sector at the Secretariat General for European Affairs (SGAE) from 2008 to 2013.
He then worked in the private sector for a number of international groups, where his responsibilities included finance.
He joined ANSSI in March 2021 as Head of the sectoral coordination division, then became regulatory project manager reporting to the Strategy deputy director, in charge of piloting the creation of a team combining control and supervision activities within ANSSI.
In January 2025, he became Head of the Controls and Supervision mission.
